Music legand James Brown made a popular song that summarized to mood of the era called: Say It Loud, I'm Black And I'm Proud.

Then, in the 1990s a musical group called Destinie's Child made a song called: Independent Woman, and this song summarized the mood and the "attitude" of the "modern" black Feminist women and how she felt about everything: SELFISH!!!
